Day 17-19 - Finch Duration
1. Vocabulary:
- Algorithm - a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, esp. by a computer. The sequence of steps used to solve a problem or complete a task (usually in plain English and the computer does not understand)
- Program - the actual instructions given to the computer
- Sequence: a particular order in which related events, movements, or things follow each other.
- Specific: clearly defined or identified
2. Lesson:
Introduce the “DURATION”
Introduce the “DURATION”
- Look at page 20 “Trial Page” and discuss the need to go through SEVERAL trials and keep DETAILED records. NO ERASING - If possible, have them use pens
- At the end of the course, remember you will have an obstacle course you will need to run your Finch through. You will NOT know what the course looks like, so you need to go through trials to learn your Finch
- Today you will practice on a simple maze to practice learning movement, lighting, and buzzing
3. Activity:
1. Go through Trials to direct your Finches
2. Go through ALL 3 Trials
If you are struggling with turning, either move one wheel while the other one is at 0 or have one wheel move forward and one wheel move backwards
